About the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice

We are the bridge between theory and practice for the Kroc School and its students. The Kroc IPJ works in the San Diego-Tijuana area and around the world to build more peaceful societies. As an applied research institute, we co-create learning with partners to end cycles of violence.

We are home to the following programs and initiatives:

  • Cross-Border Initiatives: Building sustainable peace at the U.S.-Mexico border.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Assessing the impact of peacebuilding programs in the San Diego region.
  • Women, Peace and Security: Accelerating the impact of women peace leaders.
  • Violence, Inequality and Power Lab: Confronting how inequalities of power shape the landscape of violence.
